HealthPartners is commiting abortions!

In St. Paul, Minn., abortions continue at Regions Hospital (formerly St. Paul-Ramsey Medical Center) and HealthPartners, one of Minnesota's largest health organizations, owns and operates this Regions Hospital abortuary. It is not typical that a hospital have an abortuary completely contained within its medical facility, and Regions Hospital is in betrayal of its purpose to restore the health of its patients by killing babies. Doctors whom Regions uses to kill unborn babies are Ob-Gyn residents at the University of Minnesota Medical School, who take rotation through this facility. Abortions are committed into the sixth month of pregnancy at HealthPartners' Regions Hospital. The recent Minnesota Department of Health report revealed that HealthPartners, inside its Regions Hospital, killed 733 babies in 2005. Years have show that this abortuary has killed between 600 and 1,200 babies annually.

When you see "GYN Special Services" you should understand that this is tongue-in-cheek for killing babies and training abortionists.

If you peruse the websites of HealthPartners and Regions Hospital, there is no reference to abortion or its abortuary. Also, they give the title “GYN Special Services” when referring to their abortuary and thus covering up the real purpose for this facility.

Many insurance companies do not pay for abortions in their coverage, however, not so with HealthPartners! HealthPartners, on the other hand not only pays for abortions in its insurance coverage, but actually is guilty of aborting innocent children and training abortionists through Regions Hospital.

Pro-life Ministries of Duluth has been actively protesting this hypocricy of HealthPartners' by offering literature outside of Essentia (the new name for St. Mary's of Duluth Hospital and Clinics) and educating the community about the insurance company that many of them unwittingly have through their employer.

Jim explains HealthPartners' link to Regions Hospital in an excerpt from his

March/2009 newsletter:

"St. Mary's has been a friend to the unborn--that is, until they agreed to do business with an organization that owns an abortion center (HealthPartners). Though they have tried to cover it up, St. Mary's Hospital (SMDC) [now Essentia] uses HealthPartners to manage its healthcare insurance. Sr. Kathleen Hofer (SMDC board chair) wrote me saying, 'HealthPartners is not an abortion provider; it is a third party administrator of health insurance claims.' But in fact HealthPartners owns Regions Hospital in St. Paul, which operates GYN Special Services, an abortion clinic. This reminds me of Sergeant Schultz in the 70's TV show Hogan's Heroes, 'I see nothing!'"
